This course will take you to the level of skill and knowledge needed to help you find and keep a job in this trade.

Pre-entry Requirements:
A reasonable standard of literacy and numeracy is required as reading, writing and measuring form a part of this course. Open learning will be available to brush up rusty skills. A College assessment will be undertaken. You must have good eyesight and the ability to use hand tools.

Course Content:
The course will include all the basic skills, together with the knowledge of all the materials tools and equipment and how to use them.

City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills – Painting and Decorating (6217-03)

Employment Opportunities:
You could expect to work as a Painter/Decorator within the building or maintenance industry. Self-employment may also be an option. Your Employment Development Manager will help you make the right choice. There are many opportunities for women in this industry.
