Many disabled people want to learn new skills and develop a life within the community. Queen Elizabeth's Foundation Resource Centre is a focal point for those living in the Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley area, and offers a wide range of services, information and activities.
The Centre provides an enormous selection of classes, from computer training, arts and crafts, through to woodwork, braille, indoor and outdoor sports. It also operates a Wheelchair Repair Service, which is used by members and the local community.
Counselling, information and support services are available, which are much appreciated by members, particularly those who are newly disabled.
Those who are able to consider retraining or employment are offered one-to-one advice and guidance.
A successful Lottery application brought a Grant of £152,400 which enabled the Foundation to extend the Centre providing more facilities and therefore accommodating more local people.
The Resource Centre is always pleased to welcome new members.
