Vocational Services
QEF Vocational Services in Leatherhead, Surrey provides training for sustainable employment for adults with disabilities, especially those who have been forced to change their career direction through accident or illness.
The College offers a range of 11 courses in a range of business, trade and technical subjects, each focused on a job market and leading to a specific qualification. In preparation for employment, and in addition to their time spent at the College, trainees will normally undertake a period of work experience in their home area. This helps ease the journey into work, and indeed many placements lead directly on to an offer of a permanent job.
We have places for both residential trainees, and also for non-residential trainees who live locally and wish to travel daily.
Most trainees have more than one disability, may not have worked for some years, and have been forced to change direction by an accident or illness. Many are understandably nervous and lack the confidence to rejoin the world of employment, especially in a new career.
A combination of the support provided by the College, and the commitment shown by the trainees, lead many to gain permanent sustainable employment. This, together with a greater level of self-confidence and higher self-esteem, enables them to rebuild their lives.
