Introduction

Development centerQueen Elizabeth's Foundation Development Centre works with severely disabled young people to give them the skills they require to enable them to move on to a lifestyle and location of their choice.

Most clients come from home or school. At the Centre they become as independent as possible they learn to be competent in many areas, from money management to shopping, from planning a social life to arranging and directing any help that they need.

In the sixteen self-contained independent living flats, clients are able to take full responsibility for their own welfare, often for the first time. They can put everything they have learnt into practice within a supportive setting before they move into their own home.

Queen Elizabeth's Foundation is currently fundraising to provide better facilities for other clients. They will be able to learn, and use, the skills they need with the appropriate level of support at each stage, before they move on to the lifestyle best suited to their needs.

From Monday 30th October The Freewheelers Theatre Company is based at The Bridge in Kingston Road, Leatherhead.

Letters for the Freewheelers should be addressed to: P O Box 339, Cobham, KT11 9BD.
