Respite
Respite provision at QEF Development Centre
The Development Centre offers a respite service for adults with both physical and learning disabilities, accommodating a wide range of support needs. The length of a placement is flexible and might range from a couple of days to a block of several weeks (perhaps where a person is between placements). We would endeavour to provide assistance with transport to and from the centre within the local area (subject to availability).
In addition to full care and support, placements would also include access to a day programme, which might include some of the following:
- Music
- Drama
- Art and Craft
- IT (and use of the internet café)
- Horticulture
- Occupational Therapy support.
- Supported Cooking
- Supported Shopping
The costs are calculated based on individual support needs. Clearly it is helpful for the centre to have as much notice as possible in advance of a placement. However, we might be able to assist in an emergency providing that we have a care plan and other relevant information in place 24 hours prior to arrival.
The Development Centres lively environment and activities would appeal particularly to young adults.
