Art, Design & Technology

The Art, Design and Technology Department aims to provide assessment, guidance, skills development and support in a range of practical subjects. Individualised programmes are devised and, where appropriate, vocationally focused courses are offered. In addition, guidelines and strategies developed in other departments e.g. Psychology, Physiotherapy, are reinforced in a practical setting.

We provide:

Clients can select from:

..Woodwork, Pottery, Painting, Textiles and Technology
These subjects offer clients the opportunity to explore their own creativity, and to learn aspects of design, manufacture and finishing. Clients are encouraged to develop their own ideas, or to select from a range of designs. Where necessary, tools and equipment are adapted and, as in other subjects, the aim of the sessions is to build confidence, raise self-esteem and maximise learning opportunities in a relaxed practical environment.

Horticulture
Horticulture sessions offer the chance to learn the theory and practical skills involved in gardening, both in the greenhouse and outside in the garden. Techniques such as raising vegetables and flowers from seed, plant maintenance and harvesting are learned.
